A good rule of thumb to make sure your body is properly
hydrated, is to consume half your body weight in ounces everyday. This allows your body the minimum requirement it needs for replenishment to your vital organs and helps maintain healthy energy levels.

Some bottled water companies represent them-selves
as "naturally purified" or "spring water", when they don't meet the criteria for spring
water, are worse than some tap water and are sourced near "asphalt parking lots or other
areas of dangerous contamination."
- Using chlorine is not the best way to purify the water. Public water supply and some
bottled water companies use chlorine to clean the water. Chlorine treatment does not kill
all the bacteria and microorganism and leaves an aftertaste. The best process is
ozonation—where ozone gas is bubbled through the water, killing all bacteria and
microorganisms.
The ozone dissipates quickly and leaves no aftertaste.

about each spring and its location. After all, springs are an important part of the
difference between the brands." However, many bottled water companies are vague and
secretive about the source of their water. Know where your water comes from.
- The plastic that the bottles are made of, can make a huge difference in taste.
Because some bottled water companies use low-end plastic to save money, you will taste
this cheap plastic in the water. Make sure that the bottle is made of polycarbonite resin
(FDA and NSI certified).
- The cleanest and purest water comes from a natural spring.
It's even healthier than
well water.
- Water filters can give you a false sense of security.
Common filters may make tap water
taste and smell better, but they don't remove any heavy metals, like lead. One of the best
tests is how well a filter removes "chloroform", while leaving the minerals.
- According to

dehydration. Ironically, most of the liquids that we substitute for water—like juice, sodas,
coffee, tea and alcohol—actually dehydrate the body, which adds to the problem."
- Don't expose bottles of water to the direct sunlight. This contributes to the growth of
algae and other bacteria, which can affect taste and purity.
- Many public water supplies put fluoride in the water to promote dental health.
After a forty-day fluoridation trial, an Illinois Judge ruled that "a conclusion that fluoride is a safe,
effective means of promoting dental health cannot be supported by this record." It has
even been shown that fluoridation can be hazardous to your health. According to Dr. Dean
Burk, a former researcher at the National Cancer Institute, one-tenth of all cancer deaths in
this country can be shown to be linked to fluoridation of public drinking water.
- De-mineralized water contains very little or no minerals.
This is the type of water you
get by using a distiller, reverse osmosis or de-ionization. Creating a "healthy water" means
removing the harmful agents, but keeping the beneficial minerals. You want water that has
the healthy minerals, and not the harmful ones.
